The EU project ENTRANTS aims to increase the sense of belonging of (first-year) students. As a project group, we have an idea of what campus life is like, but our students are the experts. Therefore, student participation is essential to the outcome and the success of the project.
Within the project, various measures and support services are being developed. These are intended to make life easier for students in their everyday studies and, in the best case, to strengthen their positive identification with the higher education institution. In order to be able to develop and implement these offers in a targeted manner, quality assurance by the target group itself is required. The students thus become experts.
The first online meetings with the respective Student Advisory Groups have already taken place at two of the partner universities. During these meetings, the contents of the project were explained and discussed together. In the course of the project, the experiences and wishes of the students regarding the entry into the higher education institution should contribute to guaranteeing the quality and effectiveness of the offers developed. For this purpose, the expert group is continuously asked for feedback on various contents. One of the first tasks of the Advisory Group was to carry out a pre-test of the Europe-wide student survey. Based on the feedback, the survey could be adapted and made understandable for students with regard to the technical terms.
As the project just started five months ago, we are very much looking forward to continuing working with our student advisory groups for another 2,5 years!
